Why an empty home is the best time to clean
With the furniture gone, every part of the carpet is reachable, including the edges along walls and the areas that sat under beds and sofas for years. Traffic lanes and dents from furniture are easier to see and treat. An empty home also tends to dry faster because air can move freely through the rooms.

- Dry soil removal along edges, corners and closets
- Pre-treatment of traffic lanes, doorways and visible spots
- Cleaning suited to the carpet, typically hot water extraction for synthetic carpet
- Grooming so the carpet dries evenly and looks finished for the next walkthrough
- A summary of anything we could not fully correct, such as permanent stains or wear
Planning the timing
- Book early. End-of-month dates fill up quickly. Tell us your move-out date and the date of the inspection or next move-in.
- Clean last. Schedule carpet cleaning after movers, painters and general cleaners are finished so the carpet is not re-soiled.
- Leave time to dry. Plan for the carpet to dry before the inspection or before furniture comes in. Leaving windows open, fans running or air conditioning on helps.
- Confirm access. Let us know about parking, loading zones, elevator reservations, lockboxes and who will be on site.
Security deposits and inspections
Lease terms and inspection standards vary, and we cannot guarantee a deposit outcome. What we can do is clean the carpet carefully, treat the areas inspectors notice most, such as traffic lanes, doorways and spots, and tell you honestly about anything that is wear or damage rather than soil. If your lease requires professional carpet cleaning, mention it when you book so the paperwork you need, such as a receipt with the service date and address, is ready at handoff.
Moving into a new place? Cleaning the carpet before your furniture arrives is the easiest time to do it, and it gives you a clean start in your new home.
